Chapter 2

As time passed Holly realised that Oliver wasn’t interested in her the
only interest he had was in his career; she had made a terrible mistake
how can you make a man fall in love with you if he isn’t interested in
the first place.
She would cry herself to sleep; she just tried make the best of it. It was
only for two years, after all.
Rita knew her friend wasn’t happy and suggested that she talked to
Oliver
“I agreed Rita”
“Yes, but it not really what you wanted is it?”
“No but I signed the contract so two years it is”
“Holly babe you should be happy, you need to get over him and move
on”
“Yes…I know”
Their first year was upon them; they both got on their own lives unless
there was something Holly had to attend with Oliver, then she had to
play the doting wife as part of the agreement.
Oliver came home one evening and told Holly that partners from out
of town were coming over and would be staying with them
“Oh, right.”
“That means you will have to sleep in my room.”
“Oh… what will the sleeping arrangements be?”
“Well we can share my bed unless you don’t want to or…”
“Yeah, that’s fine.”
“Are you Sure?”
“Yes that’s fine” she said nodding her head
As the weekend approached Holly made sure she was ready for
Oliver’s guests. She moved her clothes and all her other stuff into
Oliver’s bedroom to make it appear that they were a happily married
couple.
Then she went shopping as she was making a big slap-up meal for their
guests. She planned to make a three-cause meal; her starter was goat’s
cheese soufflé and her main meal duck with Spicy cabbage with roasted
scalps with a dressing made from the duck juice followed by Cranachan
dessert.
As she was shopping, she spotted Oliver with a young lady. She had
wondered if this was the lady he’d been seeing. She didn’t feel that this
was being discreet though not to mention she felt so jealous, the greeneyed monster was indeed showing.
When Oliver arrived home, Holly was so angry she snapped at him, he
wondered what he’d done
“Do you think that kissing that girl was discreet”? She said moodily
“She works in the office.”
“Well that’s discreet, isn’t it?”
“I was congratulating her; she’s getting married”
“Oh I see” she felt so embarrassed now
“Was you?”
“No, I wasn’t!” she interrupted and quickly waltzed off.
